Hi Everyone,Â
Darker nights are drawing in, and the clocks have now changedÂ
Now is a good time to review home security, this post covers – Vehicles
Steering wheel locks are a good visual deterrent that will slow a thief down
If you park on a driveway and have gates – use them, another option is to fit a parking bollardÂ
Â
Consider fitting trackers and immobilisers – these can prevent thefts and have resulted in stolen vehicles being traced
Â
If your vehicle has a catalytic convertor, consider a Cat loc Shop - Catloc or similar security rated device to deter thievesÂ
Â
For key less vehicles keep fobs in Faraday pouches / metal tins to prevent relay theft, do not leave keys near doors and windows
Â
Protect the OBD (on board diagnostic) port with a port lock
Â
Don’t leave valuable – bags, wallets, coats etc in unattended vehicles and when you leave your vehicle physically make sure it is locked – many people leave vehicles unlocked by mistake!
Â
For motorbikes consider anti-grinder locks and ground anchorsÂ
Â
For vans and campers consider upgrading factory fitted locks with additional slam locks, loom guards, shielding panels Locks 4 Vans: Security Solutions for Commercial Vehicles
Â
Pedal boxes prevent the drive pedals being usedÂ
Â
If possible, remove tools from vehicles, alternatively fit secure lock boxes, record serial numbers, forensically mark tools DNA Asset Marking | SelectaDNA or sticker or solder them so they can be identified
Â
Consider CCTV cubes within vans to alert you if it is broken into
