The Knife Angel, also known as the National Monument Against Violence and Aggression, is a striking 27-foot sculpture created from more than 100,000 knives and blades surrendered or seized across the UK. Created by artist Alfie Bradley and the British Ironwork Centre, it serves as a powerful memorial to those affected by violence and a reminder of the importance of choosing positive alternatives to carrying weapons.
The sculpture is visiting Edinburgh as part of its national anti-violence tour and will be located at Kirkgate, at the foot of Leith Walk, helping to encourage conversations about the impact of violence, support for victims and families, and ways communities can work together to prevent harm.
